According to a post by the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay via his official Twitter account, Leeds United director of football Victor Orta spoke about Pablo Hernandez’s future during a Q&A on Monday, and Whites fans have all been saying the same thing about the Spaniard.
The 32-year-old attacking midfielder’s contract at Elland Road is due to expire this summer, but there has been no progress in him signing a new one to extend his stay in Yorkshire with Orta saying he needs to speak to the player’s agent.
The Spaniard, rated at £2.25m according to Transfermarkt, has scored 12 goals and provided a further 16 assists in 71 appearances in all competitions for United, and he has been a key and influential performer in the final third for them in recent seasons.
Leeds supporters were quick to have their say on Orta’s comments via social media, and while one said “give him whatever he wants”, another simply said “we need to keep him”.
