Southampton have announced the signing of Mohamed Elyounoussi from Basel on a five-year deal.
The transfer fee is believed to be in the region of £16million for the 23-year-old forward.
The Norwegian signed for Swiss club Basel in 2016 and went on to make 83 appearances, scoring 23 goals and assisting 30.
Before that Elyounoussi, who is comfortable playing up front and on the wing, played for Molde in Norway and scored 41 goals in 91 games.

Speaking about the move, Southampton manager Mark Hughes said: “He has got an outstanding record of goals and assists in two different countries, and we have been extremely impressed by the intelligence he has shown in his play from a tactical point of view.”
Elyounoussi will likely replace Dusan Tadic in the starting eleven after the Serbian forward left the Saints to join Ajax after spending four years at St. Mary’s.
The Norway international is Southampton’s second signing of the summer after the purchase of Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong.
Southampton posted a customary signing announcement on Twitter which showed Armstrong and Elyounoussi as football stickers.
Saints fans have been reacting to the news on social media and these are some of their best comments.
