Southampton announced via their official Twitter account on Monday that tickets for their FA Cup semi-final tie against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday were now on sale to supporters with a relevant purchase history since the 2014/15 season, and Saints fans were quick to react to the news.
The south coast outfit were handed more than 33,000 tickets for the showdown against the Blues, but it appears as though they are struggling to shift them just days before they have the opportunity to reach the final in the competition for the first time since 2003.
Mark Hughes’ men will be looking to gain some revenge over the west London outfit following their 3-2 league defeat against the Blues at St Mary’s on Sunday, which left the hosts five points from safety with just five fixtures remaining this term.
Southampton fans, who have tried to find the positives with relegation looking more and more likely to happen, took to social media to give their thoughts on the latest update from the club, and while one labelled it as a “bit embarrassing”, another simply said “awkward”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
